Sony started rolling out its latest JellyBean 4.1 update for Xperia S, Xperia SL and Xperia Acro S. The latest update is a maintenance release and it includes many bug fixes and other improvements. According to Sony, users reported many bugs in their previous update and in this update they have addressed and fixed all such problems. The Xperia blog states that time and availability of the update will vary from market and carrier.
In this update, they have really improved the video recording so you can easily record 1080p videos, and the abnormality in white balance is fixed. The functionality of “Quick Launch” is also improved. The update boosted the performance and stability of 2G network connectivity. Exchange active sync has also been streamlined when running an encrypted setup. This update will keep third party applications intact even after a short reboot. The update also minimised the battery consumption and will now show correct juice notifications when battery is low. Some major improvements with the volume buttons, sometimes they UP button doesn’t work properly and now in this update, the “UP” button is fully responsive.
Other additions includes a long press home key will launch Google Now and the quick double press will show the recently used applications.
